A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1 NLT
So here I go! For my first blog post, I should explain who I am, how I got my blog title, and why I am writing to you, dear reader.
I am married with grown children. I worked while raising my children (we will definitely talk about that!), and I just retired.
I don’t have it all together, but I do have a peaceful and loving home. (Well, most of the time anyway!) I feel a burden to help women in any way I can; there are so many heartaches, and problems, and tragedies. The best way for me, personally, to lighten women’s loads, is to write.
I will be writing on all sorts of topics relating to the home, such as relationships, order, decorating, health, teenagers, and marriage.
I am not a decorator, but have been trying to create a beautiful home for over 30 years. I am not a counselor, although in my work I ended up counseling people all the time. I am not an ordained minister, but I am a student of the Word of God. I am not a life coach, although I have been one to myself, with the help of others, for many years. I am just a fellow traveler, willing to lend a hand.
I am so not tech savvy! But I think I can write, and blogs are a wonderful way to do that. I’ll figure it out with some help along the way.
So, the title. Many years ago I was having jealousy and insecurity issues with my husband. A very dear friend gave my that verse, Proverbs 14:1, and it was like getting cold water splashed in my face. It was difficult to change my thinking, but I realized I had to for the preservation of my home.
How many other women are inadvertently destroying their own homes? If my blog can prevent even one debacle, I will consider it a success.
