The United States didn’t exist at the time the Bible was written; therefore it was not explicitly named, nor have any major Bible commentators, since the US came into being, made any connection of  prophesy to it; that is, until recently.

One premise that has to be established before we can begin, is whether or not we are even near to the end times at all! If not, then it is useless to try to ascertain the end times nations; they could look completely different to today’s. This is a huge, complicated area of biblical study, which I have neither the time nor inclination to delve into, simply because I feel a great urgency to take up the matter at hand first. There are many prophesies that seem to point to a soon approaching apocalypse, and hopefully we can discuss that as well at some point.

Soo…is my homeland, which I have been led to believe almost my whole life was nowhere to be found in Scripture, actually referred to a great deal in end time prophesy?

And could it be Mystery Babylon?

If the answer to that last question is yes, it has tremendous implications. Read Revelation chapters 17 and 18 if you want to understand why. I will be discussing those chapters in future posts, and others in Revelation, and also Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51, Is. 13, and Daniel 7. 

Why don’t we start there?

[Disclaimer: I am not a trained biblical scholar. I am merely presenting what I and many others are beginning to see in Scripture. You MUST be a Berean, and suss it out for yourself. I could be wrong!)

To those of you who are already posting in comments tldr (too long didn’t read) I will give you the cliff notes. The relevant verses from Daniel 7 are at the bottom, for those among you who want to see it in Scripture for yourselves.

In Daniel 7 he has a vision of 4 kingdoms. Matthew Henry equated this vision as being a rehash of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in an earlier chapter, and that was of successive kingdoms, starting with his own Babylonian Empire, followed by the Medio-Persian Empire,  Alexander the Great’s Grecian Empire,  the  Roman Empire, and the final empire of the Antichrist, which we will refer to as the New World Order, NWO, here on out. Commentators for centuries have followed suite with Henry. But I believe this vision is about 4 end time nations, that coexist, and are not successive.

 It all hinges on one word: before. 

Matthew Henry took it to mean preceding. But the word in Aramaic is qudom, which actually has 2 meanings, 1) preceding, or, 2) in front of, in the presence of. This means the entities exist at the same time. 

Every other place the word qudom is used in the book of Daniel, it is obvious that it has the second meaning.* That changes everything! 

3 of the  4 beasts in Daniel 7 are easily recognizable. The lion is Great Britain (the eagle’s wings that sprout out – can you guess what they represent?); the bear, Russia; the leopard with fowl’s wings, a German/French alliance (EU?).

The 4th beast, even Matthew Henry recognized  as the end time kingdom of the Antichrist. 

You may say, so what? My point is this: Daniel was told to lock up this vision until the time of the end. It seems that all of a sudden, many people are starting to see similar things in end time prophesies, which were a mystery up until now. 

Could this, itself, be a sign of the end?

I was reading Revelation 17 and 18 a number of years ago when I was stunned to realize that it had to be talking about America. No one suggested this to me. It just occurred to me. Who else fits the bill? Who else exports all their filth to all the world? Who else has made all the merchants of the world rich? And then when it is destroyed, they watch the smoke rising from her, from their ships offshore, crying, who will buy all their goods? Who is the number one consumer of goods in all the world? Who else is maybe the number one consumer of “the souls of men” (sex trafficked kids)? 

It seemed unmistakable to me. It still does, only more so now.

Daniel 7 NKJV

1-8

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream, telling the main facts.

Daniel spoke, saying, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’

After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.

I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

15-28

I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things:  ‘Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings which arise out of the earth. But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’

Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet; and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.

 “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.

“Thus he said:

‘The fourth beast shall be
A fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be different from all otherkingdoms,
And shall devour the whole earth,
Trample it and break it in pieces.

The ten horns are ten kings
Who shall arise from this kingdom.
And another shall rise after them;
He shall be different from the first ones,
And shall subdue three kings.

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time.

‘But the court shall be seated,
And they shall take away his dominion,
To consume and destroy it forever.

Then the kingdom and dominion,
And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven,
Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’

This is the end of the account. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I kept the matter in my heart.

* I prefer the KJV, but that’s a long story. It is interesting to note that many of the newer translations, which are generally done by great scholars of biblical languages and who should know better, choose to translate before as preceding. Hmmmmm
